Horas Indah Family Home

During our March 2010 vacation we have stayed at Horas Indah Family Home. The below block quote shows my very positive review on TripAdvisor! Trip advisor now also offers TripWow, an amazing feature which allows you to show your photo’s in an animated way. The tool is free, on this page you can view my first TripWow attempt :) .

This travel slideshow of Alex’s trip to 2 cities including Alkmaar and Samosir was created by TripAdvisor on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 9:36pm UTC. Alex traveled 10,070 kilometers (6,257 miles) on this trip.

So here you have the block quote from my Horas Family home review at TripAdvisor:

This wonderful accomodation is situated at the village of Tuk Tuk, Samosir, Sumatra. We have experienced a wonderful time here. Getting there is easy, if you want the owner can arrange transport from many locations in Sumatra. We’ve chosen to be picked up at our hotel in Medan. Driving to Samosir is a pleasure, sit back, relax and enjoy the amazing views. At Horas Family home you will receive a warm welcome with a personal introduction of the environment. After this your as free as a bird and can relax at the wonderful vacation homes which Horas offers. You have a broad range of oppertunities in the area. Walking through the village, fishing in Lake Toba from your backyard, renting a bicycle, renting a boat. You can do it all, or you can do absolutely nothing and enjoy the serene peace which you’ll definitiallyi experience when you are at Horas.

The biggest secret of Horas Family Home is the kitchen. It’s fabulous. I have never eaten such good fish in my whole life (tip; catch your own fish and have the cook prepare it)!

The facilities are modern, clean and very properly maintained. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help. The prices are somewhat upmarket for backpackers, however the prices very well are in line with the level of quality. Conclusion: a must visit when Lake Toba is within your travel plans.
